2024 Season
We won the Impact Award at the Sacramento Regional!
2024 SEASON HIGHLIGHT
FIRST IMPACT AWARD
SACRAMENTO REGIONAL
During our Week 3 competition at the Sacramento Regional, held from March 14 to March 16 right here on our home campus, Pleasant Grove High School, we won the most prestigious award in the FIRST Robotics Competition program: the FIRST Impact Award!

The Impact Award identified our team as one that best represents a model for other teams to emulate, who embodies the FIRST Robotics mission of providing life-changing experiences for the community.
We were recognized for our sustainable and measurable efforts to:
-
Host robotics summer camps for local 4th-8th grade students
-
Provide machine shop tours and workshops for local BSA and Girl Scout Troops
-
Support local FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams through hosting annual Qualifier Tournaments
-
And teach robotics and engineering concepts to youth with special needs by adapting pre-existing curriculum for our Connect-Assist-Play (CAP) program

Winning the FIRST Impact Award features a cool bonus as well - we earned a ticket to compete on the world stage that is the FIRST Robotics World Championships in Houston, Texas! This international event will feature 600 teams from around the world and unique networking opportunities with FIRST partners, sponsoring companies, and colleges from across the country, all of which we want our students to have a chance to participate in.

ENGINEERING INSPIRATION
AEROSPACE VALLEY REGIONAL
At our Week 6 competition at the Aerospace Valley Regional, held from April 3 to April 6, in Lancaster, CA, we received the Engineering Inspiration Award that celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within our school and community.

This award highlighted our measurable efforts to increase accessibility to STEM education for our youth by initiating new and expanding current programs year-over-year, as well as build sustainable partnerships with our local Scout troops and school district's Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program to provide multi-level STEM opportunities.
Receiving the Engineering Inspiration Award qualified our team for the FIRST Robotics World Championships a second time, in addition to getting our event registration fee generously sponsored by NASA.
FIRST 2024 Season Game: CRESCENDO
On January 6th, our team learned more about Crescendo, the FRC competition game for 2023 presented by HAAS, from FIRST and then immediately began strategizing, designing, building, and programming a competition robot and a practice robot for our upcoming season events.
