Capital City Classic (CCC)

Off-season FRC Competition

2013 - Present

We founded CCC in 2013 and now co-host the tournament with Team 1678 (Citrus Circuits) and Team 3859 (Wolfpack Robotics). Located in Northern California, CCC attracts 45+ teams for a full weekend of competition and technical and non-technical workshops that are also open to non-competing teams.

NorCal FLL Qualifiers

FIRST LEGO League Tournaments

2014 - Present

Since 2014, we have hosted Qualifiers Tournaments for FLL teams in the NorCal region. We have also hosted multiple NorCal FLL District Championships. We have been honored to have the privilege of hosting these events, which are crucial stepping stones for younger members of FIRST to advance into higher-level robotics programs.

Elementary School Demos

FRC Robot Demo and STEAM Activities

2014 - Present

By presenting at local elementary schools, we build a pipeline of interested students by inspiring youth to participate in and pursue STEAM activities and future careers. We engage students with a close-up look of our FRC competition robot in action and hands-on robotics with our LinkBots and VEX robotics.

Virtual Elementary School Demos

FRC Robot Demo and STEAM Activities

2021 - 2022

Due to the effects of the pandemic, it has limited our ability to do in-person outreach events. We solved this by having demos online! We showcase our robot, using multiple cameras to see all the angles of the robot. We also give EagleKits to further engage students past the demonstration

In Our Community

Community Event Demos

Elk Grove and Sacramento

2015 - Present

By presenting at local community events in partnership with other STEM-related organizations such as Code Ninjas and Start Dream Big, we expand our reach to youth beyond our school district. These opportunities allow us to bring the fun and excitement of STEM and robotics to wider demographics.

EagleAssist: GoBabyGo!

Increasing mobility

2018-2020

For our students to take the skills they've learned through our robotics programs to serve others, we've taken on two GoBabyGo! projects to modify ride-on battery powered cars to assist children with limited mobility from Cerebral Palsy.

EagleAssist: ExoSkeleton Arm

For a child with muscular dystrophy

2017-2019

Outside of the FIRST Robotics Competition community, our students also learn to apply the skills they've learned through our programs to help and serve those in our community. Designed and built by two of our mechanical students, this exoskeleton helped a local child living with muscular dystrophy who had outgrown their original structure.

Retirement Communities

Sunrise and Rancho Murieta

2016 - Present

To engage with members of our local retirement communities, we bring out our robot for a demo and team presentation. Our students also meet with many of the retirees who have worked in technical and mechanical industries to learn from their experiences!

Beyond Our Community

Helping FRCC summer students with VEX robots

Fruitridge Community Collaborative (FRCC)

Sacramento Promise Zone

2018-2019

The FRCC serves communities within the Sacramento Promise Zone, a region of California's lowest-income neighborhoods. To add STEM to the FRCC's program, we created a curriculum to teach simple engineering concepts by building a solar car and robotics by working with VEX robots.

Geekology (Lodi, CA)

World of Wonders Science Museum

2014 -Present

Geekology is a "hybrid science convention-meets-fandom festival" that draws hundreds of attendees throughout the Northern California region annually. We bring out our Linkbots and competition bot for people to interact with at this open-ended event to join in on the effort of celebrating and inspiring STEM, technology, and other "geeky" fun.

Girl Scouts STEM Events

Girl Scouts STEM Center + MakerSpace

2019 - Present

To increase awareness and encourage more female youth to join in on the STEM movement, we partner with Girl Scouts to demo our robot and host other fun robotics activities for young girls to learn about STEM and its possibilities.
